The owners loved this Virginia-Highland home but started and ended every day in two rooms that no longer matched the rest of it. We gutted both.

The project
The kitchen was rebuilt with custom cabinetry, professional-grade appliances, and an island sized for guests to gather around, opened toward the living area so the cook is part of the conversation.
The primary bath was reconfigured around a custom tile shower, dual vanities, and a freestanding soaking tub in place of the original corner tub. Four months, two rooms, and the whole house feels different.
